The 2020-2021 academic year was a difficult one for educators, and by the time the end of the school year rolled around, I was ready for, well, a whole lotta nothing. To make that happen, I booked our family a long-weekend getaway at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess in Scottsdale, Arizona.
The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess is pure escapism (as the name implies), and while big resorts are not our usual travel style, this was exactly what we needed! The resort is gorgeous, and we enjoyed the thoughtful touches we discovered during our stay. I loved the landscaping and the colorful dessert sunsets. The girls enjoyed pool-hopping and couldn’t quite decide which of the pools they liked best.
Since we were there a few days before Memorial Day Weekend, we were lucky enough to have the resort mostly to ourselves. We stayed in one of their casitas in order to give ourselves a bit more distance during Covid, but we needn’t have worried about encountering crowds. The whole experience was peaceful and restorative.
One afternoon we left our resort bubble to head into downtown Scottsdale for some sweet treats. We enjoyed browsing through the shops, but we were also happy to return to the calm of the resort.
While our trip to Scottsdale was short, it was a fantastic(al) escape. I’m looking forward to returning again soon!
