As we have been doing for many years now, our family alternates between Connecticut and Oregon for the Christmas holidays. In 2022, we were off to CT for some time with my family before making our way up to Jay Peak in northern Vermont for a few days of skiing.
We spent Christmas day with our two cousins, and I even convinced everyone to wear matching buffalo plaid pjs. The other days were spent skating, connecting with neighbors, and re-living my very fashionable middle school days. 😉

After the Christmas celebrations were over, we traveled to Jay Peak, a ski resort in northern Vermont, right on the Canadian border. Jay has a reputation for being the coldest resort in North America, but we lucked out with good weather and pretty decent snow. In the evenings, we enjoyed the Pump House Indoor Water Park, one of Jay’s biggest selling points for families.

Although we only got to ski for a few days, it is always a pleasure to be out skiing and riding and to have the kids get to a point where they enjoy it, too. Both C and I used to log 50+ on-snow days each year when we were high school and college kids (he was a ski racer, and I was a ski instructor for eight years!). Life in the Great Plains is not conducive to that much skiing and riding, so we are both happy to take as many ski days as we can get!
